Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four major tournaments during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of the last two tournaments this season due to a health issue she has been battling in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching next year's training.

These plans will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering again next season.

Raducanu required blood pressure checks in her opening round with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

Another medical visit was necessary a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Her movement was far from freely in the final set against Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has affected her at times this year.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally for the first time in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

She secured twenty-eight matches during 2025 and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament prior to a loss in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
