Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who jumped a barrier and seized the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A widely shared clip reveals the individual from Australia bypassing media personnel and lunging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a event pathway flanked by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the event by guards.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being taken in", though court documents indicated that he was due to be present on the next day. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.

Record of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram profile contains clips of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney concert in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last winter.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is obviously a punishable act," commented an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Grande's Past Trauma

Several fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented one more response on Instagram.

Several attendees also faulted event staff at the gathering for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals demanded online networks to remove Mr Wen's content.

Response and Event Details

In clips spreading on the internet, Grande looked startled when she was touched by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Many of Singapore fans had lined up to meet the performers of Wicked

Hundreds of fans had gathered in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore mall, including a number who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it began.

The film, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the sequel of a dual adaptation of the well-known Broadway and West End show Wicked, which centers on the surprising bond between two contrasting sorceresses.

The show itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown featuring roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning film of 2024 in the UK, and received a dozen Academy Award nods, winning several for outstanding attire and set decoration.
